Man arrested on second attempt to rob store

LORAIN — Trying to rob a store at knifepoint: reckless.

Getting chased out by a store worker with a gun: justified.

Returning to the store the next day: priceless.

An employee of Key Foods at 1600 E. 28th St., called police around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday and said the man who tried to rob the store around 9:55 p.m. Monday was back in the store, according to a report by police Officer Jeremy Gray. The man, who was carrying a long knife, demanded money. Abdallah Suleman chased the man out of the store with a gun, according to a report by police Officer Andrew Greszler.

Police returned to the store and arrested Luis Curbelo and charged him with aggravated robbery. Curbelo, 30, of the 1600 block of East 29th Street, was being held early this morning at Lorain City Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond. He is due back in Lorain Municipal Court on July 22.
