ELYRIA — A Cleveland man who had already been cited several times this week for open container and disorderly conduct, took the time to finish his beer while an officer was citing him yesterday evening.
Michael Bair, 50, was cited for open container, disorderly conduct by intoxication and littering.
According to an Elyria police report, he’d been cited with the first two charges several times in the past week.
Officers walking through Ely Square about 6 p.m. yesterday spotted Bair sitting on a park bench with a 22-ounce Milwaukee’s Best beer can near his feet, the report said.
An officer knocked over the beer can and began writing citations, the report said, when Bair pick the can back up, drank the rest of the beer and flung the can over his head.
Officers cited him and gave him a court date of today at 10 a.m.
He was then transported to EMH Regional Medical Center for a psychological evaluation due to suicidal statements he made during his arrest, the report said.
According to Elyria Municipal Court records, Bair was cited for open container on Saturday and Tuesday and for disorderly conduct on Saturday.
