An officer met with Corey Noble, 18, at EMH Amherst Hospital, where he was taken by his girlfriend, the report said. He was treated and released from the hospital, according to a spokeswoman.
Noble told police he was hanging around the Marshalls at Lorain Plaza when officers working in the area made him leave. He said he then walked to the area of West 23rd Street and Sunset Boulevard.
He said that once there he saw the same car drive by repeatedly and then heard three to four gunshots and felt a pain in his left leg. After realizing he had been shot, he said he texted his girlfriend to pick him up and walked to West 23rd and Leavitt Road to wait for her. He told an officer he believed he was shot at 1 a.m.
Noble was unable to describe the vehicle that he said had driven by him numerous times, the report said. When officers asked to see the text message he sent to his girlfriend, he said he’d used someone else’s phone.
