Man charged with cutting girlfriend

LORAIN — A city man accused of cutting his girlfriend with a knife early Thursday faces a slew of charges.

Torrey T. Hill allegedly chased the 37-year-old city woman out of her home in the 1200 block of W. 17th St. about 12:50 a.m. and threw a knife at her, cutting her on the right calf, according to police Officer Eric Alten’s incident report.

The woman said Hill then repeatedly punched her in the head and threw rocks at her as she ran to Biggy’s Pub at 1757 Oberlin Ave. for help. After being arrested inside the woman’s home, Hill allegedly threatened to kill the woman, according to Officer John Kovach’s report.

Hill was charged with felonious assault, domestic violence, aggravated burglary, intimidation of a witness and violation of a protective order. Hill, 31, of the 1000 block of W. 23rd St., was being held Thursday night at Lorain City Jail in lieu of a $1.5 million bond and is due in Lorain Municipal Court today.
