Judge revokes Daniel Kovarbasich’s bail

ELYRIA — Lorain County Common Pleas Judge James Burge has revoked bail for convicted killer Daniel Kovarbaisch and terminated his house arrest.

Kovarbasich will remain in the county jail until an Aug. 19 probation violation hearing to determine if he violated his probation.

The GPS unit the 17-year-old wears indicated that he was gone from the house between 12:28 a.m. and 12:58 a.m. Wednesday, according to the arrest report prepared by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. The terms of Daniel’s probation dictate that he is only supposed to leave his parents’ home for medical and legal appointments.

The 17-year-old fatally stabbed Duane Hurley, the man he said was molesting him, in January 2010.
