Sunday, Sept. 4

3:37 p.m. — 200 block Princeton Ave., four tires worth $200 stolen from front yard. Police found the tires in bushes nearby and returned them to the owner.

4:25 p.m. — Chris’ Place, 515 Clark St., purse containing $60 and debit card stolen out of car on Saturday.

5:05 p.m. — St. Jude’s Church, 590 Poplar St., front passenger window smashed of car parked in church parking lot, and purse containing $200 and credit and debit cards stolen.

5:14 p.m. — Outside West River Branch of Elyria Public Library, 1194 West River Road N., man says three men approached him and asked where the book drop was and stole his phone when he turned away to give directions.

7:54 p.m. — 100 block Brunswick Drive, three televisions with total value of $1,800 stolen along with $200 worth of video games and $75 in clothes. Entry made through locked back door.

Friday, Sept. 2

12:03 a.m. — 1200 W. 44th St., resident says two men kicked in his door and punched and kicked him before he was able to get them out of the apartment. Police said the man told them he had no idea why the men broke in and assaulted him.

Saturday, Sept. 3

8:49 a.m. — 5400 block Seven Pines Drive, van window smashed, DVD player worth $100 stolen.

9:31 p.m. — 1100 block W. 30th St., Gerald Jones, 63, homeless, charged with resisting arrest, breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools and obstructing official business for allegedly breaking into a vacant home and removing $5,000 worth of copper piping. Police said Jones tried to jump out a window before eventually surrendering. A bag containing a chisel, gloves and pliers was found in the home.

Sunday, Sept. 4

12:05 a.m. – 4100 block Leavitt Road, Rodric S. Green, 35, charged with resisting arrest, domestic violence and obstructing official business for allegedly choking and punching a teen girl after she refused to let him use her phone. Police Officer Matthew Sedivy said Green ran from him and Sedivy said he fired probes from his Taser stun gun at Green, but missed. Sedivy said he later caught up with Green and handcuffed him.

12:42 a.m. — 4200 block Shore Drive, Jeffrey J. Przytulski, 55, 4200 block Shore Drive, charged with domestic violence for allegedly slapping a woman twice and pushing her out of apartment.

1:46 a.m. – 500 block W. 25th St., John L. Armstrong, 56, 500 block W. 25th St., Lorain, charged with domestic violence.

3:14 a.m. – 3900 block W. Erie Ave., 59-year-old city man suffering from apparent drug overdose, man taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain

9:12 a.m. — Oberlin Avenue and West 21st Street, Kimberly S. Duncan, 45, 4700 block Oberlin Ave., Lorain, charged with driving with a suspended license and obstructing official business for allegedly speeding and recklessly driving and fleeing the scene where police said they stopped her and her passenger, Keith D. Nash. Nash, 21, 2300 block Livingston Ave., Lorain, was charged with cocaine possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering evidence for allegedly having a small amount of cocaine on him.

10:47 a.m. — 1100 W. Second St., garage window broken and car rummaged through, but nothing stolen.

11:34 a.m. — 1900 block E. 30th St., window shattered, television stolen.

1:10 p.m. — 1500 block Madison Ave., Moshen Sdiri, 53, same address, Lorain, charged with domestic violence for allegedly kicking woman’s walker, grabbing her wrists and taking away phones from her when she tried to call the police.

2:51 p.m. — 5900 block Gargasz Drive, mother says 17-year-old son is missing for a day since accusing her of stealing his marijuana and saying he will be shot by his drug supplier if he doesn’t come up with the $200 for it.

5:17 p.m. — 1200 block W. 11th St., screen to window lifted and smudge marks on window indicating attempted burglary.

8:11 p.m. — 1200 W. 11th St., one window opened and another tampered with indicating attempted burglary.

Monday, Sept. 5

1:07 p.m. — Party Center, 2501 Leavitt Road, man said two teenaged boys distracted him, with one stealing his wallet which contained $75.

1:34 p.m. — 2800 block G. St., 2000 Dodge Caravan worth $3,000 stolen from in front of home. Owner said van had a spare key where the gas cap is.

2:19 p.m. — 1400 block W. 23rd St., Dennis A. Calhoun, 60, 3800 block N. Hogan Drive, Lorain, charged with assault, but not arrested, for allegedly shoving a woman who said she was ministering to Calhoun and lending him food and money. The woman said she escaped from him by throwing his phone and driving away.

2:53 p.m. — 900 block W. 18th St., Quanisha D. James, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence for allegedly scratching the face and arm of her mother’s boyfriend after he refused to let James’ boyfriend visit.

3:51 p.m. — 3000 block Washington Ave., woman said $1,000 stolen from her unlocked car parked in the driveway of her home on Aug. 27.

5 p.m. — Super K-Mart, 5350 Leavitt Road, Daniel R. Garrison, 26, 300 block Florida Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with drunken driving, driving with a suspended license and tailgating. Police said Garrison took a Chevy Trailblazer without the owner’s permission, caused an accident and ran from the scene of the crash before being caught by an Amherst police officer.

6:34 p.m. — 4200 block Pearl Ave., woman says $610 worth of jewelry stolen from hallway apartment while she was at work.

4:46 p.m. — 100 N. Park St., burglary reported.

Friday, Aug. 19

1:40 a.m. — Andre Henry, 27, Lorain, charged with domestic violence and criminal damaging or endangering.

Saturday, Aug. 20

No time listed — S. Pleasant Street, Paul D. Hill, 19, Oberlin, charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property involving stolen checks from FirstMerit Bank. The victim was described as elderly.

9:05 a.m. — 200 block Hollywood St., criminal damaging.

10:33 a.m. — 200 N. Pleasant St., theft of computer reported.

11:50 p.m. — Main Street, vandalism reported at Edward Jones Investments. Police later charge Andrew M. Gutierrez, 23, Oberlin, with vandalism.

10:59 a.m. — 200 block Woodland St., theft reported at Phillips Gym on the Oberlin College campus.

11:38 a.m. — 200 block Woodland St., theft reported at Phillips Gym on the Oberlin College campus.

Tuesday, Aug. 23

12:29 a.m. — 300 block Groveland St., Calvin T. King, 36, Elyria, arrested on a warrant.

6:55 p.m. — 200 block Barker St., warrant issued for man who allegedly threw a grill lid at a car and allegedly threatened to break a windshield with a brick during a domestic incident.

Monday, Aug. 22

4:58 p.m. — S. Main Street, teen wearing earphones and roller-blading near Herrick Memorial Library flees police and later apologizes. He was given a citation.

5:15 p.m. — 100 block S. Main St., man at Elms Nursing Home reports $40 missing from his wallet.

Tuesday, Aug. 23

5:58 p.m. — 200 block Marts Place, unlawful entry into apartment reported.
