Madeline E. Deskins (nee Hylton), 85, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011 at her daughter’s residence in Colorado Springs, Colorado, following a short illness. She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia on July 10, 1926. Mrs. Deskins had resided in Colorado for the past five months and had previously resided in Willoughby for 37 years.
She was an assembler and worked at Ardack in Willoughby for several years and had previously worked at RIC Fibers in Painesville for many years. She attended Calvary Assembly in Willoughby and was a former member of The Church of God in Mentor.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her love for her family and her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Mrs. Deskins enjoyed cooking, baking, her family and friends and taking care of her home.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia “Patty” Sutter (husband, Robert) of Avon Lake and Connie Deskins (husband, Mark ODonnell) of Colorado Springs; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren; sister, Georgie Powers of Pineville, West Virginia; and brother, Billy Hylton of Buchanan County, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Daris D. Deskins in 2005; daughter, Barbara Ann Deskins in 1948; brothers, Henry, John Lewis, Eugene, Elmer and Leon Hylton; and her parents, Isaac and Mary (nee Rose) Hylton.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 11 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, 1401 2nd St., Richlands, Virginia. Rev. Dan DeLembo and Rev. Carlton King will co-officiate the service. Burial will be at Green Hills Memory Gardens in Richlands.
