Douglas Alan Brubaker

Douglas Alan Brubaker, 42, of Laura, Ohio, passed away on  Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Kettering Medical Center,  Dayton, after a courageous battle against cancer. He was  born December 10, 1968 in Troy, Ohio. Doug was the son of  the late David G. Brubaker and Jean (Jones) Brubaker  Mattis.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Jean; step-father,  Kenneth L. Mattis; sister, Carol (Mike) Fox of Tipp City;  step-brother, Kenneth R. (Rob) Mattis and wife Katie of   Tipp City; grandmothers, Blanche Jones of Wellington; and  Audrey Mattis of West Milton; and nieces, nephews, aunts,  uncles, and many first cousins, and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, David G. Brubaker;  and grandparents, Fenton and Louise Brubaker, Edgar  Jones and Kenneth M. Mattis.

Doug was a 1987 graduate of Milton-Union High School and  graduated from Ohio State University in 1992 with a degree  in Agriculture Mechanization. He was employed by Great  Plains Manufacturing, Inc., as a product specialist. He had  previously worked at Hartzell Fan, in Piqua. He had been  active in 4-H and FFA, a member of Nashville United  Church of Christ, and a member of  Alpha Gamma Sigma  Fraternity. For approximately 15 years, served as a counselor at Ohio 4-H Conservation Camp at Camp Ohio.

Friends may call Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 3 to 6  P.M. at the Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami  St., West Milton.

Friends may also call Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 1:30  until the 3 P.M. Memorial Service at Nashville United  Church of Christ, 4540 West St. Rt. 571,West Milton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Ohio,  Building Improvement Fund or the Alpha Gamma Sigma  Scholarship Fund at Ohio State, in Dougs Memory.
