11:27 a.m. — 500 block Broad St., a woman reported a man stole cash from her purse while she was giving him a ride to the Journey Inn.
11:37 a.m. — 700 block Purdue Ave., a woman reported someone stole her rear license plate and replaced it with a different plate stolen from someone else.
12:47 p.m. — 1500 block Lake Ave., Education Alternatives School, juvenile male, 14, charged with assault on a police officer, aggravated menacing and criminal damage for pushing a teacher, threatening to stab a teacher and a counselor, pulling a fire extinguisher from the wall and kicking a police officer while he was being restrained.
5:21 p.m. — 100 block Parmely Ave., a man reported someone broke in through the back door of his home and stole a flat screen TV, a PlayStation 3 and controller and a computer modem worth a total of $2,259.
5:35 p.m. — 400 block Cleveland St., CVS, Daniel Garrison, 26, 100 block Northrup St., charged with theft for allegedly stealing an 18-pack of Bud Light beer worth $13.99.
9 p.m. — 300 block East Ave., Jennifer Burchell, 39, charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Friday, Sept. 30
12:53 a.m. — 100 block S. Park Drive, Dwayne Kemp, 45, 1300 block East Ave., charged with assault for allegedly slapping his ex-girlfriend.
1:53 a.m. — 100 block Longford Ave., Michael Thomas, 45, Chagrin Falls, charged with assault for allegedly striking his friend repeatedly in the face.
Thursday, Sept. 29
12:08 a.m. — 2800 block Meister Road, front living room window broken and two televisions worth $1,800 stolen.
4:24 a.m. — 5600 block Ashland Ave., doors pushed open due to defective dead bolt, clothes, electronics, jewelry and tools worth $31,294 stolen.
8:04 p.m. — 1700 block E. 29th St., abandoned house with back door open full of broken furniture, rotten food and trash. Health and Building departments were alerted. Police said the home is owned by Great Homes for You LLC.
9:45 p.m. — Pennsylvania and Wilson avenues, Darrian L. Terry, 21, 1700 block Euclid Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with resisting arrest, obstructing official business, driving with a suspended license, failure to signal turn and no license plate for allegedly not using a turn signal and then running from police after being stopped. Police Officer Howard Heathcoat wrote in an incident report that after catching Terry, he found a large amount of cash and a small amount of marijuana on him.
Friday, Sept. 30
12:23 a.m. — 1800 block E. 42nd St., Kyle W. Wren, 22, 1900 block E. 30th St., Lorain, arrested and charged with domestic violence for allegedly choking and slapping his pregnant girlfriend. Police said Wren told them he “lost it” because he was angry with his girlfriend, who is under the legal drinking age, for drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana while pregnant and spending his gas money, which he needed to get to work, on alcohol.
1 a.m. — 700 block Washington Ave., window to third-floor balcony open, computer, television video game and watch worth $3,340 stolen. Safe with $500 in it also stolen.
2:54 a.m. — Gil’s International Lounge, 1840 E. 28th St., Ivan Brooks L. Brooks, 27, 4200 block Seneca Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with assault, breaking and entering and vandalism for allegedly choking and hitting a woman in the bar and breaking into the bar after it was closed, causing $700 in damage to the bar door.
4:22 a.m. — 2500 block Homewood Drive, George S. Blake, 37, 2500 block Elyria Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with trespassing for allegedly refusing to leave his nephew’s garage where Blake told police he’d been living for a month.
6:48 a.m. — 2800 block Packard Drive, home vacant for several days burglarized, television, two glass table tops and two lamps worth $140 stolen.
