ELYRIA — An employee found a man unconscious in the Elyria Wal-Mart restroom stall with a syringe next to him Friday morning, according to an Elyria police report.
Ryan Johnson, 22, of Elyria, was found sitting unconscious on a toilet with a full syringe lying on the floor next to him. A spoon with burned cotton and a plastic bag full of syringe needles as well as a lighter and a pack of cigarettes was found on the toilet paper dispenser.
Johnson told paramedics, “I think it was heroin,” when asked what he’d injected himself with. He was taken to EMH Medical Center in Elyria.
Johnson was charged with drug abuse, possession of drug instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had outstanding arrest warrants for the same charges stemming from a separate incident.
