Charges expected in storage unit break-in

NORTH RIDGEVILLE — Police anticipate additional charges against a man suspected in the theft of copper sheeting, nails, power tools and other items from a storage facility.

Courtney Cutteridge, 26, of North Ridgeville, has been charged with trespassing in connection with the Oct. 28 break-in of a unit at Center Ridge Storage.

North Ridgeville police Capt. Marti Garrow said an investigation into the break-in is continuing, but police expect an initial charge of trespassing to be dismissed in favor of other charges that could include receiving stolen property.

“At a minimum we’re looking at that,” Garrow said.

Further charges could include felony theft, since the amount of materials taken from the storage unit exceeds $500 in value, Garrow said.

Garrow said Cutteridge appeared to have acted alone.
