Ross Foundation to give Midview $350K to redo football field

EATON TWP. — The Ross Foundation, the charitable arm of Ross Environmental Services Inc., will present the Midview school board with a proposal tonight to fund the replacement of the grass field at Midview’s Adelsberg Stadium into a state-of-the art artificial turf field.

The grant to the school district will total $350,000 and Ross will receive naming rights for the donation. The field will be renamed Ross Field at Adelsberg Stadium.

Midview board members will vote on accepting the donation tonight. The donation will be paid over the course of five years with the first $70,000 payment coming next year. Payments of equal size will be made in years 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

The district’s athletic director, Creg Jantz, said the gift is the largest gift that Ross has given to date and the biggest the school district has received to date.

The Ross Foundation Inc. was founded in 1984 to provide the Ross companies with an avenue for charitable giving with a focus on programs that address the educational needs of the community. Over the years, gifts have been bestowed upon not only Midview Schools but also Eaton Township and the Grafton-Midview Public Library.
