The move, tentatively planned for March 2012, could cost 30 jobs at the Amherst facility.
Jim Jaye, director of corporate communications for Nordson, said the loss will likely be mitigated by business in Amherst growing. Also, company officials are considering starting to produce parts in Amherst that the corporation had previously bought through third parties.
The parts that might be moved are used in an adhesive dispensing system.
They are sent to Atlanta, and producing them there would save on transportation costs, Jaye said.
