Browns RB Montario Hardesty practices

BEREA – Browns running back Montario Hardesty practiced today after missing the last three weeks with a calf tear.

Shurmur said Hardesty will start Sunday against the Bengals if he’s healthy, but Chris Ogbonnaya will see action regardless. Ogbonnaya has started the last three weeks and rushed for a career-high 115 yards Sunday in a 14-10 win over Jacksonville.

Peyton Hillis has already been ruled out for Sunday and will miss his sixth straight game with a strained hamstring. But he attended practice for the first time in weeks during the portion open to the media. He shuffled through the bags once and jogged a bit.

Shurmur also said quarterback Colt McCoy will “do everything” at practice. He had a sore right (throwing) shoulder after taking a couple of big hits Sunday.

Shurmur said he saw McCoy throw earlier this morning and he looked “normal.”

Fullback Owen Marecic won’t practice today as he was still feeling the effects of a concussion he sustained Sunday in the fourth quarter. Special teamer/backup linebacker Quinton Spears (hamstring) also missed.
