Firelands teacher still critical, others improving after crashes

Other victims of various car accidents throughout Lorain County continue to improve, but Firelands High School teacher James Muth, 39, remains in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said Monday.

From Friday’s crash that killed Richard Littlehales, 31, on Grafton Road in Grafton Township, Lauren Rigotti, 26, has been upgraded to fair condition, and Victor F. Jason, 24, has been treated and released, the spokeswoman said.

From the head-on collision on North Abbe Road in Sheffield last Wednesday, Alice Smith, 40, was listed in good condition. Her children, ages 1 and 4, have been treated and released. Ramon Davila Jr., 55, whose vehicle collided with Smith’s, was also discharged from the hospital.

Donald Kneisel, 79, whose vehicle collided with Muth’s on Russia Road on Nov. 22, has also been released from the hospital, the spokeswoman said.
