Dexter was returned by his adoptive mother as she felt she couldn’t give him the time he needed. Dexter is a very smart boy. We just need him to use his smarts to realize not to be so afraid of men or being left alone too long. This boy needs exercise, routine, discipline and stability and he will excel. He loves to go for walks, and run around being silly. Loves to wrestle with other dogs, is fine living with cats, but would probably need to be in a home with older children only. He does like to roughhouse, and listens really well when you need him to stop. Dexter might do OK in a home with men, but they would need to be committed and willing to work through his fears. He is very treat-motivated, so that will help his cause.
He is housebroken and knows the sit, stay, wait and stop commands. Very quick learner and is so willing to please. Dexter is a very affectionate, loving boy. With the right guidance, he is going to be an excellent companion.
