Comments from Columbia Township Trustee Dick Heidecker were incorrectly attributed in a story Friday to Jack Hoyt, a New Russia Township trustee. Heidecker said Columbia Township decided not to join a proposed police district because it already contracts with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office for 20 hours of patrols and residents have twice defeated levies to pay for additional patrols.
