Gary Patrick Davis

Gary Patrick Davis, 62, of Elyria, died in the emergency room at EMH Healthcare on Saturday, February 25, 2012 following a long illness. Mr. Davis was born April 3, 1949 in Grafton, West Virginia and made his home in Elyria for most of his life.

He was a United States Army veteran serving in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. He was employed in the blast furnace department at U.S. Steel, Lorain Works for 33 years, and was a member of St. LadislausS.B. Society, the AMVETS Post 47, the VFW Post in Lorain, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 1442, and St. John Catholic Church in Lorain.

Surviving him are his children, Jody Davis and Mike Davis, both of Elyria, Jill (Brian) Ross of Lorain, Kim Smith of Elyria, Rhonda Richmond of Galion, and Laurie (Mike) Truman of Elyria; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; also surviving are two brothers, David (Charlene) Davis of Long Island, New York, Keith Davis of Lorain; and sister, Karen (Juan) Ortiz of Elyria.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Davis (nee Molchen) in October of 2011; brother, Randy Davis; and his parents, James and Mary (nee Knotts) Davis.

A graveside service will be held at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 12 Noon, with full military honors provided by the VFW Post 1079. All are welcome.
