Clarence Wright, Jr., 65, of Lorain, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 26, 2012 after an extended illness. He was born August 15, 1946 in Demopolis, Alabama to Nettie (Fluker) Wright and the late Clarence Wright, Sr. At the age of four he moved to Lorain, and had resided there for the past 61 years.
Clarence was husband to Deloris C. (Shumate) Wright. He graduated from Elyria High School. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Army serving four years and receiving an honorable discharge. He then attended Akron University, where he obtained his Bachelors of Arts degree in Social Work. Clarence was employed by General Motors for 27 years. He was greatly loved by family and friends and has acquired many accolades associated with his name.
Clarences home going leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Nettie Wright of Lorain; his children: daughter, Shavon Gibbs (Glenis); and sons, Pastor Charles Howard (Valerie) of Avon Lake, Andre Wright and Troye Wright, both of Elyria; nine brothers, Royal Fluker of Georgia, Clevester Wright, Cornelius Smith, and Donald Wright, all of Lorain, Ronnie Wright of Cleveland, Anthony Wright (Lora) of Akron, Bobby Wight (Joann) and Michael Wright of Elyria, Eric Wright (Alicia) of Florida; and his sisters, Rosa (Wright) Pattie of Michigan and Christine Wright-Yarger (Matthew) of Lorain; he also has 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, March 30, 2012 from 6 to 9 P.M. and Saturday, March 21, 2012 from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. at Faith Ministries, 1306 Euclid Ave., Lorain, Pastor Alvin and Diane Lindsey. Pastor Benny Williams will officiate and Pastor Anthony Wright, Eulogist. The burial will be held at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
