Zachary Anton Evert

Zachary Anton Evert, 27, of Grafton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday March 28, 2012. He was born in Westlake  November 16, 1984.

Zachary was a life-long resident of Lorain County. He was a 2003 graduate of Midview High School. Zach was employed by his fathers business, the Evert Excavating Company and because of his wonderful, outgoing personality, he excelled at customer relations. He thoroughly enjoyed working with his father and his brother in the family business. Zach was an artist and he loved drawing. He was also a musician who played the bass, guitar and drums. He was an avid reader and his favorite author was J.D. Salinger. Zach had a great mind and he enjoyed the study of history, philosophy, etymology, origins and many other things. Zach also enjoyed having fun and he really enjoyed baseball and movies. Everyone Zach met was immediately drawn to him and his warmth and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Zach is survived by his parents, Roger and Diane (nee Janik) Evert of Grafton; one sister, Kara Evert of Elyria; one brother, Nick Evert of Grafton; his paternal grandfather, Herman Evert of Strongsville; and his godparents and aunt and uncle, Tom and Carole Bakos of North Ridgeville.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anton and Mary (nee Klatic) Janik; and his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Evert (nee Williams).

A private gathering and service for Zach was held Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the Liston Funeral Home in North Ridgeville.
