Lorain police arrest another suspected gang member

Echols

LORAIN — Police arrested another suspected member of the MOB gang today in Lorain.

Eric Echols, 21, who was last week’s U.S. Marshals fugitive of the week, was found about noon today hiding in a home at 818 W. 18th St., Lt. Mark Carpentiere said.

Carpentiere said officers went to the home to check for Echols, were let in and found him hiding in a closet or crawl space.

Echols had a warrant for participating in a criminal gang. According to Marshals, he was also involved in a domestic dispute with the mother of his child at the home about a week ago.

Carpentiere said there had been conflicting reports about whether Echols was actually residing at the home.

Echols is one of 22 people police and Marshals have sought out in connection to the gang. Carpentiere said today that all but two or three of the 22 have been arrested.
