6 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Spotlight nationality cultural night at DeLuca’s Place in the Park, featuring food and entertainment. A limited number of tickets, which are $50 per person, will be available at the door.
Monday, June 18
8 a.m.: International breakfast at DeLuca’s Place in the Park. Speaker is Erik Escuro from Amherst, an Emory College graduate who has spent two years volunteering for Teach for America and will enter medical school in the fall. He will talk about how the older generation can inspire the younger generation to continue the tradition of the Lorain International Festival. Tickets are $10 and can be reserved by calling 288-0719. A very limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
7 p.m.: Free outdoor concert at Veterans Memorial Park. Entertainment is Soul Station, led by lead vocalist Sir Leslie Jennings, playing a mix of Motown, R&B and soul.
Tuesday, June 19
7 p.m.: Free International Heritage of Sacred Music concert at the Lorain Palace Theatre, featuring choirs and musical groups from area churches.
Wednesday, June 20
5 to 8 p.m.: Spotlight organization open house featuring the Lorain Lions at the Black River Landing transportation center.
Thursday, June 21
7 p.m. Princess pageant at the Lorain Palace Theatre. Tickets are $11 and can be purchased at lorainpalace.com or by calling 245-2323.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 22 to 24
International Festival bazaar at Black River Landing. Opening ceremonies are 6 p.m. Friday, and hours are 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The bazaar features more than 100 ethnic foods, live entertainment all day, ethnic souvenirs and crafts and a children’s area with inflatable attractions. Boat tours of the Black River ($10) and to the Lorain lighthouse ($20) will be offered.
Saturday, June 23
Black River Kayak-a-thon. Participants have choices of a competitive race or a “casual float” and long and short courses which run between the French Creek and mouth of the Black River. Start times range from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost on the day of the event is $30 to race and $7 to float. Visit lorainblackriver.com/kayak.html for more info.

11:30 a.m. Parade travels from West 17th Street and ends just past City Hall on West Erie Avenue.
