Clayton Allen “Abe” Birchler, 76, of Grafton, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. Clayton “Abe” was born on October 6, 1935 in Evansville, Indiana.
He was a graduate of Memorial High School, Class of 1953. The husband of Dayan for 32 years; father of Jeff, Jerry and Kimberly Williams; step father of Scott; son of the late Dennis and Anna Catherine Birchler; brother of the late Norma Jean Schneider; grandfather of seven; and great grandfather of three.
Clayton “Abe” lived life as he wanted, traveled the United States by tractor and trailer. He loved people and being the life of the party. He loved horses and had many ribbons as proof. A longtime member of VFW 9340 of Columbia Station, he was also a longtime member of the Eagles and served as their chaplain in 2011.
