Clarence was a water plant superintendent for the City of Lorain, Water Treatment Dept., retiring in 1980 after 30+ years of service. He was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Clarence was an outdoorsman and sportsman. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and archer, having entered many archery tournaments in his younger days. He was a former member of the Lorain County Beagle Club. For many years he was a beekeeper and raised wild turkeys. He especially enjoyed vegetable gardening. In his later years, his passion was to sit out on his back patio, sometimes from sun up until sun down, watching and feeding the deer and wild turkeys that would show up within a few feet of his house every morning and evening.
Clarence is survived by his sons, Dale (Suzie) Emerick of Key West, Florida, and Wayne (Nancy) Emerick of Lorain; daughters, Sherry (Adam) Kocak of Dublin, Ohio, and Joan Emerick of Lorain; grandchildren, Jared Emerick, Adam R. Kocak, and Joseph Kocak.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Agnes (nee McGuire) Emerick; his wife of 50 years, Irma (nee Barricelli) April 24, 2001; brother, Carl Emerick; and sister, Arbelle McCulski.
