LaGrange barn fire squashed

LAGRANGE – A barn fire Monday afternoon was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
Firefighters were dispatched to 38899 Indian Hollow Road around 2:30 p.m.

LaGrange Fire Chief James Rader said the fire was “small,” and firefighters were able to control it in five minutes.

Two rafters inside the barn were damaged at an estimated cost of $5,000, Rader said. A resident of the home said she kept some items belonging to a friend in the barn.

A small pile of smoking debris and sticks were located in the neighbor’s yard, next to the barn, at the time of the fire, but Rader said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
