
Earl L. Fulton, 74, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in the Kingston of Vermilion Nursing Home, following a brief illness. Mr. Fulton was born in Lorain on January 29, 1938, the son of the late John and Edith M. (nee Wycoff) Fulton.
He was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1956A, and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a troubleshooter at Ohio Edison in Elyria for 39 1/2 years, retiring in 1996.
Mr. Fulton was a member of the F&AM, Stonington Lodge #503, Black River Lodge #786, Al Koran of Cleveland, Royal Arch Masons – P. B. Morgan Chapter, Blue Lodge, the Lorain Council and Elyria Commandry. He was also a life member of Amvets in Vermilion, a member of the American Legion in Amherst, and both the Moose and Elks clubs in Elyria.
He was a volunteer firefighter for Amherst City Fire Department for 25 years, retiring 1992. He enjoyed traveling, watching the Indians and Browns, and taking ocean cruises.
Mr. Fulton is survived by his wife of 23 years, Christine (nee Banjoff) Fulton; daughter, Kimberly (Brian) Fulton Aliff of Lorain; two sons, Daniel (Mary Shannon) Fulton of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Christopher (Amanda) Balyeat of Northfield; grandchildren, Ryan Costello, Tanner Fulton, Brandon Aliff, Tyler Fulton, Nicholas Balyeat, Jacob Balyeat; a sister, Eunice Reichert of San Diego, California; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Bennett; and a brother, John Fulton.
Friends may call Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th St., Lorain. The Masonic order will conduct a memorial service at 2 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10 A.M. in the funeral home, with Rev. Evelyn Bonnell, interim Pastor of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, with full military honors provided jointly by the American Legion Post 30 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 451.
