Kenneth Lee Thurman, 42, of Elyria, passed away on his birthday, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain, after a very brave battle with cancer. Ken was born in Elyria on June 27, 1970 and lived in Elyria all of his life. Before Ken’s illness he was employed in construction as a brick mason. Ken was a sports enthusiast and loved watching the Browns, the Cav’s and the Tribe. Ken’s true passion was spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Christie (nee Spurling); children, Megan, Emma, Kaylah and Charles; and his mother, Donna (nee Morris) Sauer. Also surviving are four sisters, Angie (Dan) Villagi, Pamela Thurman, Tammy (Ben) Goeller, and Valerie (Brian) Kolhoff; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Thurman; paternal grandparents, Alva and Johnnie Mae Thurman; and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Icy Morris; and a niece, Tyler Bush.
Friends may call at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 4 P.M. until the time of service at 7 P.M.
