
Luis Carrion, 80, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Ames Family Hospice Center in Westlake, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Luquillo, Puerto Rico on November 21, 1931 and had been a resident of Lorain for the past six years.
Luis had worked as a foreman in Queens, New York. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Luis enjoyed playing dominos and spending time with the Seniors at El Centro, and with his family.
Survivors include his children, Norma Lan of West Palm Beach. Florida, Hector Luis Carrion of St. Cloud, Florida and Joe Santana of Elyria; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; son, Ruben Carrion; parents, Luis and Amparo Carrion; and by several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call Monday, July 2, 2012 from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at 11 A.M. at the House of Praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Pastor Iris Rosado will officiate. Burial with full military honors provided by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20 of Lorain, will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
Arrangements are being handled by Wyers Funeral Chapel of Sheffield Township.
