LORAIN — Shots fired in Lorain led to the search for a juvenile suspect Saturday.
At 12:07 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1300 block of West 21st Street for a large fight in progress with shots fired.
According to a police report, police arrived to the area to find 80 to 100 people but no fight in progress. Police said several people on the scene refused to cooperate, and they were unable to determine how the fight started.
According to the report, one man told police he was visiting family when he observed a black male juvenile wearing a red shirt with a white stripe, black baseball cap and black shorts fire several shots from a revolver into the area. He said the male did not appear to shoot anyone, but several other shots were fired from other bystanders as well.
Police said a small caliber automatic pistol casing was found in front of a residence on West 21st Street. The casing was taken as evidence.
While searching the area for evidence, police identified the suspect, who ran from the scene. Police were unable to locate him.
