Police log for July 5, 2012

Monday, July 2

6:44 p.m. — 3100 block Amherst Ave., reported theft of groceries from unattached garage.

8:12 p.m. — 1600 block E. 30th St., $1,000 stereo stolen from car parked in front of residence, no signs of forced entry, but car owner says car was locked.

9:25 p.m. — Police Station, 100 W. Erie Ave., resident said three vehicles rummaged through in a parking lot in the 3600 block of Broadway, but nothing stolen.

10:15 p.m. — 3000 block Fulmer Road, a woman reported that someone cut off the gas cap on her vehicle. She said she did not know who had cut it off, but she said she has had problems with some of her neighbors.

Tuesday, July 3

9:08 a.m. — Faith House, 1561 E. 30th St., three cars burglarized, with a total of $758 in items taken. Surveillance video showed the suspect to be a white man, 18 to 22 years old, between 5 foot, 7 inches and 5 foot 10 inches, with a thin build and wearing a dark gray T-shirt, black-and-white plaid shorts and a shoulder bag with a black strap. The man had brown hair in a mohawk haircut.

6:35 p.m. — 1400 block Washington Ave., inoperable 1995 teal Chevrolet Cavalier worth $900 stolen from driveway.

7:38 p.m. — Police Department, 100 W. Erie Ave., woman said her wallet containing $50 was stolen Monday while she was shopping at Goodwill Industries at 1996 Cooper Foster Road.

7:45 p.m. — West 20th Street, and Washington Avenue, juvenile boy, 900 block W. 18th St., Lorain, issued a summons for assault. The boy is accused of shooting three people with a BB gun.

8:37 p.m. — 4100 block Meadow Lane, Heriberto Orona, 25, 4400 block Oakhill Blvd., Lorain, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Orona punched one of his brothers and swung a knife, according to one of the brothers.

11:31 p.m. — West 30th Street and Oakdale Avenue, unlocked car parked in driveway rummaged through with $1 in change stolen.

Wednesday, July 4

2:51 a.m. — Oakwood Park, 3510 Oakwood Ave., one juvenile boy, 4200 block Pearl Ave, and two juvenile girls, 3800 block Fulton Road, Lorain, issued summons for minors’ curfew violations. Police said they were in the park swimming pool area around 2:50 a.m.
