Three in Lorain charged with break-in
LORAIN — Three Lorain residents were charged with breaking and entering after they allegedly tried to take a hot water heater from a home on Apple Avenue, according to a police report.
Hugo Leon Marcano, 36, Orlando Torres Rivera, 37, and Kayla Marie Dejesus, 26, were found in the home in the 2300 block of Apple Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday, the report stated.
Marcano told police he broke into the home to take the hot water heater because his was broken.
He told police that Dejesus was only in the house to stop him and Rivera from taking the tank.
The home was listed as being owned by a woman who died in 2010 and it does not appear as if anyone is taking responsibility for caring for the residence, according to the report.
Man charged with Broadway gunplay
LORAIN — A 33-year-old Lorain man was charged with using weapons while intoxicated and other charges Thursday after a police officer heard gunshots fired on Broadway.
Dale Christopher Dye also was charged with discharging weapons near a public roadway and tampering with evidence after the incident, according to a police report.
A man who was with Dye told police that he was walking on Broadway about 1 a.m. when Dye invited him in to drink and showed him a gun before he went outside and fired it into the air.
The witness said Dye later fired a second gun and that he tried to hide the weapons when police arrived.
