LORAIN — A Lorain man faces a felonious assault charge after being accused of stabbing another man in the arm.
Christoper Gilmore is accused of stabbing John Ivan in the right arm around 11:05 p.m. Friday outside Gilmore’s home in the 2600 block of Meister Road.
Gilmore said a drunken Ivan was walking by with his family and started an argument and wouldn’t move off the sidewalk, according to police Officer Marcus Haring’s report. Gilmore said he cut Ivan after Ivan came at him with a yard sign.
Debbie Tomecko, Ivan’s fiancee, said she heard Gilmore tell his wife to, “get it, there’s going to be blood tonight” a reference to the knife. Tomecko said Gilmore and Ivan continued to argue and Gilmore followed Ivan down the driveway and cut him with the knife.
Gilmore, 23, was charged with felonious assault. He is due in Lorain Municipal Court today and was being held without bond at the Lorain City Jail Sunday night.
