Teens arrested in Lorain home invasion

LORAIN — Police have arrested two teenage boys for a home invasion Tuesday

At 8:42 p.m. Tuesday, officers were sent to the 900 block of West 29th Street for an aggravated burglary in process. The suspects were reportedly gone when police arrived.

The homeowner told police she was at the home with six others when the two entered the home and pushed everyone into the bedroom with a gun. The woman said one man held the seven in the room at gunpoint for approximately 30 minutes while the other man went through the residence.

According to Lorain police Lt. Mark Carpentiere, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested and are now at the Lorain County Detention Home. The gun they used was determined to be a pellet gun, he said.

Carpentiere said the victims recognized the 17-year-old and were able to provide his name to police. Both teens were called into the Police Department to be interviewed as suspects, which led to their arrests, he said.

According to a police report, the pair stole an Xbox 360 game system, Apple desktop computer, Wii game system and a Motorola Blur cell phone.

According to the report, the teen with the gun said to the victims, “Wait five minutes. If you call the cops, we’ll come back and kill you.”
