Elyrians pay tribute to Tianna Madison’s Olympic bid

ELYRIA — Olympian Tianna Madison was honored this evening at Ely Square.

Some 100 people turned out to hear the 2003 Elyria High School graduate’s coaches and relatives pay tribute to her on what was proclaimed Tianna Madison Day in Elyria.

“Tianna is, by far, living proof that through preparation, hard work and believing in yourself that the sky’s the limit and that you’re dreams really do come true,” said Jackie Below, Elyria High women’s track coach.

Madison, 26, will compete in the 100-meter run and 4×100 relay at the Olympic Games in London later this month.
