John Baker

John Baker, 74, of Grafton, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain, after a short illness. He was born June 24, 1938 in Grayson Kentucky, living in the Grafton area for 37 years.

He was employed by General Motors in Parma for 35 years until his retirement in 1994. He loved bowling, working in his yard and building most of the house in which he raised his family.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia married 57 years; sons, Tim Baker of Elyria, John Baker of Grafton, David Baker of Dayton; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sisters, Opal Burton of Dayton, Mary of Dayton; brothers, Bill Baker of Dayton and Donald Baker of Dayton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Dolly Baker; four brothers and sisters.

Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton, Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 4 until the time of service at 6 P.M., with Pastor Mike Manosky Sugar Ridge Baptist Church officiating.
