To support families maintaining healthy and active lifestyles, the Lake Erie Crushers, in collaboration with the Lorain County General Health District, WOBL 1320AM, WDLW 1380AM , and Mercy will host a special community event, Strut with Stomper, at All-Pro Freight Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 5:30 p.m.
In addition to receiving a discounted ticket price of $8 to that night’s game against the Illinois Normal Cornbelters, fans are invited to walk the concourse with the Crushers’ mascot, Stomper, prior to first pitch. Participants are eligible to participate in on-field promotions throughout the game, and will be entered for a chance to win raffle prizes. The first 50 participants to the walk will receive a complimentary pedometer, courtesy of Mercy. Following the walk, the Crushers’ athletic trainer, Heather Jennings, will be available for free health tips. Complimentary healthy snacks will be provided during the fitness session, courtesy of the Crushers.
Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., and fans should enter through the Main Gate of All-Pro Freight Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Strut with Stomper will be held rain or shine. This event coincides with the Crusher’s annual Live and Die night and dollar dog promotion. A healthy dollar alternative will be available.
Lorain County Fitness Walks participants will earn one (1) stamp for taking part in this special night. Lorain County Fitness Walks occur every Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Lorain County Metro Parks Oberlin Splash Zone facilities. Information tables will be available at the ballpark during the game.
