Crushers let lead slip away in Kentucky

FLORENCE, Ky. — Lake Erie let a five-run lead slip away as Florence rallied to a 10-9 victory on Monday. It’s just the second series the Crushers (32-27) lost on the road.

The Crushers sent 11 batters to the plate in the second and took a 7-2 lead on three hits capped by Daniel Bowman’s two-run double.

Florence chipped away, trailing 8-6 in the seventh, and Drew Rundle’s home run gave the Freedom a one-run lead.

Florence added an insurance run in the eighth and Andrew Davis hit a home run for the Crushers in the ninth, but Lake Erie could not complete the comeback.
