Golie Edward Parker, Jr., 47, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at his home, following a long illness. Ed was born March 24, 1965 in Lorain, and graduated from Vermilion High School in 1983 and EHOVE, where he studied auto body.
He was a supervisor at Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake, where he worked for over 23 years.
Ed was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lorain, loved to golf, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. He was skilled at many things and could always be counted on to help with any project.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Monica (nee Collins) Parker; his daughter, Allison Bergstedt of North Fairfield; his son, Brenton Parker of Norwalk; granddaughter, Makenna Parker of Norwalk; his mother, Janie (nee Franklin) Parker of Berlin Heights; his sisters, Debbie Gregory of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Pam Massey of New Stanton, Pennsylvania, Lorie McCormick of Lorain; and his brothers, Terry Parker of Norwalk and Jimmy Parker of Berlin Heights.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Golie Edward Parker, Sr.
The Parker Family will receive friends Friday, July 27, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 10 A.M., in the funeral center. Private inurnment for the family will take place at a later date.
