AMHERST TWP. — The owner of Farmer Boy Market was arrested yesterday for sexual imposition, according to a report from the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
Ibrahim Labbad, 62, of Westlake, was taken to the Lorain County Jail.
According to the report, deputies were called to the store about 8:20 p.m. by a 26-year-old customer. She said she went to the store to purchase bread, hot dog buns and chili.
She told them she goes in the store often and this time Labbad asked her if she wanted to try some tea. After he got a tea from a cooler, she said he put his arms around her, grabbed her breasts and kissed her, according to the report.
She told deputies she in no way wanted to be touched or kissed by Labbad and that she has never hugged him. The woman, who was crying and visibly upset, said she left the store and called 911, adding that she was on the verge of having a panic attack.
Labbad told deputies he did hug the woman but said he did not kiss her or touch her breasts.
According to the report, all of the security cameras work in the store except the one that facing the counter where the alleged offense occurred. Labad said he was not sure why the camera did not work.
Labbad was arrested at the scene, and deputies helped him close and lock up the store, the report said.
