The Reverend David Randolph Freeman, Sr. passed away at the New Life Hospice in Lorain on Wednesday, July 25, 2012. David was born to Don and Dorothy Freeman in Ravenswood, West Virginia on December 3, 1934.
He graduated from the University of Charleston and Boston University School of Theology. David served as an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church for 34 years, retired in 1996, but continued to work part-time as an assistant pastor.
David was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Pat; and his parents, Don and Dorothy.
He is survived by his son, David, Jr., and wife, Tracy of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Anne and husband, Paul of Hilliard, Ohio; son, Micah and wife, Susan, of Rockbridge, Ohio; and grandchildren, Robert, Adam, Kathryn, Autumn, Sarah, Zachary, Jack, and Matthew.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, July 29, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, 312 Third St., Elyria. The Reverend Beth McKee, Reverend Dr. William McFadden and Reverend Roger Talbott will officiate.
