Driver hurt after crashing into garage

GRAFTON TOWNSHIP — A LaGrange man was injured early Saturday morning when his vehicle crashed into a garage.

The crash occurred at 4:54 a.m. when a vehicle driven by Ethan Cocke, 21, was westbound on Capel Road and he drove through a stop sign at the intersection with Durkee Road, drove into a driveway and through a garage, according to the Elyria post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The man’s vehicle, which was not identified in reports, then hit a vehicle inside the garage. The force of that collision shoved the parked vehicle through the back wall of the garage.

Both vehicles then came to rest in a yard in back of the garage.

Cocke suffered what troopers termed incapacitating injuries.

He was taken to EMH Medical Center in Elyria and then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

Information on Cocke’s condition was not available at presstime.

The patrol said Cocke was wearing a seatbelt.

Alcohol is suspected in the crash, which remains under investigation.
