Martha H. Tylka (nee Jaworski), 89, of Lorain, died Thursday, August 2, 2012, at the Hospice of the Western Reserves Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, after a short illness. She was born June 10, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania and had resided in the Lorain area since 1946.
Martha was a member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Lorain and the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Patricia) Tylka of Lorain, Esther Tylka of Elyria, JoAnn (James) Kurowski of Elyria and Jane (Robert) Follmer of Westerville; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth (Stanley) Wolak of Lorain; and brothers, Leo Jaworski and Joseph (Madge) Jaworski, all of Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Tylka in 2002; parents, Andrew and Joan Jaworski (nee Siemianowska); sisters, Irene Rafacz and Helen Kulnieszewski; and brothers, Walter and Bruno Jaworski.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 4, 2012, from 10 to 11 A.M., at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 A.M., in the funeral chapel, with the Reverend Robert J. Glepko, Pastor of Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Lorain, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
