Betty J. Woody (nee Price)

Betty J. Woody (nee Price), 77, of Elyria, died, Sunday, August 5, 2012, in her home. She was born October 23, 1934 in Pulaski, Virginia and had been a resident of Elyria since 1955.

Betty was formerly employed at EMH Healthcare, Diamond Products, Flo-Tech, Lorain County Administration Building and The Lutheran Home, from where she retired in 1997. Her interests included bowling, crocheting, watching movies and spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by a son, Eric A. (Melinda) Woody of Elyria; daughters, Wanda Thompson of Elyria, Juanita (Ken) Vargo of Wellington, Arleen Brush of Grafton and Ellen (Ed) Ewing of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and her companion, Bichon dog, Gus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior C. Woody in 1977; daughter, Sheila Renee Woody in 1965; sister, Lillian Marie “Wiggie” Farlow; and parents, William and Virginia Price.

Friends will be received Wednesday, August 8, 2012, from 4 until 7 P.M., at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Thursday August 9, 2012, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home, with Bettys son, Eric, officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
