Richard P. Lakocy, 63, of Elyria, died Sunday, August 5, 2012, at EMH Healthcare Emergency Room, following a long illness. He was born November 16, 1948 in Elyria, and lived in Elyria all his life.
Richard was a graduate of Elyria High School with the class of 1967. He was employed by Forthofer Construction in Elyria and Walker Oil in Elyria for many years. His love was farming. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria. His hobbies were farming, nature, and fishing.
Richard is survived by three sisters, Debbie (Terry) Folley of Elyria, Mary Kaye (Jerry) Fox of Aiken, South Carolina and Susan (Phillip) Moehle of Vermilion. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Geraldine (nee Rousseau) Lakocy-Booth.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Wednesday, August 8, 2012, from 6 until 8 P.M. Closing prayers will be in the funeral home Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 9:30 A.M., followed by a Mass at 10 A.M., at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria, with the Reverend Father Thomas Hagedorn, Associate Pastor, as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
