Carl E. Jensen, 91, beloved husband of Edna (nee Beunk) for 27 years, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012. He was born in Lakewood and raised in Avon. He graduated from Avon High School in 1939, served in WWII U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, and retired in 1984 from Sheffield Sheffield Lake School District as custodian of Knollwood Elementary which he said “Of all the jobs I ever had, working for the schools was my favorite.”
He was the loving father of Barry (Sandra) Jensen; grandfather of Creighton and Madelon; step father to Janet Tischer, Ken Standen and Roger Standen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kersten (nee Krogh) Jensen; sisters, Alice (Cloyd) Pierce and Elsie (Eugene) Wiswell; his high school sweetheart and wife, June Barr Jensen and their daughter, Pam Jensen; and second wife, Barbara DunLavey Jensen.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, from 3 to 5 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M., Saturday, August 11, 2012. Funeral Service will be at 3 P.M., Sunday, August 12, 2012 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain. Inurnment will be private.
