Carole Beard (nee Berg), died Sunday, July 22, 2012. She was born June 28, 1931.
Carole grew up on a small farm near Oberlin. At a young age, she worked on the farm and later at various jobs in Oberlin. She was proud of her last job as music librarian at the college conservatory. Carole met her lifetime partner, “Tinker” Beard, and they were married in 1950. They had many friends in the Oberlin area with whom they enjoyed local area softball games, bowling and trips to Canada. For many summers, they enjoyed passing weekends with friends at a campground not far from home. After moving to their last home, they organized pig roasts, where everyone they knew gathered for fun times.
She is predeceased by her husband; and survived by a daughter and two grandsons.
Graveside services will be Thursday, August 23, 2012, 10 A.M., in Westwood Cemetery.
