ELYRIA — The Elyria Salvation Army will pass out shoe vouchers from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 21 and backpacks from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 23 at its facilities at 716 Broad St.
Anyone wishing to receive shoe vouchers or backpacks must bring a valid photo ID, proof of income such as a current pay stub or paperwork from Job & Family Services, proof of residency for the last 30 days, report cards for each child in grades one to 12, and proof of guardianship.
Last year, the Salvation Army passed out approximately 550 backpacks. The agency anticipates distributing some 250 backpacks this year.
