Nancy Diederich Lohrer, 78, of Green Valley, Arizona, beloved wife of Robert J. Lohrer, passed away in Tucson, Arizona, Saturday, August 4, 2012, after a short illness. She was born in Lorain, the daughter of the late Marcellus B. and Kathryn (Myers) Diederich.
Nancy was a longtime resident of North Ridgeville. She graduated from Ridgeville High School, attended Miami (Ohio) University, and earned a bachelors degree from Baldwin-Wallace College. She taught courses in business, at Westlake High School, for 13 years.
In addition to her husband of 44 years, Robert J. Lohrer, Nancy is survived by their son, Robert of Tucson Arizona; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Geraldine (OConnor) Diederich of Columbia Connecticut; and her sister-in-law, Dolores (Lohrer) Sirak of Parma; several cousins, seven nieces and nephews; and nine grand-nieces and nephews.
Nancy was a partner in Northview Properties, owner of Northview Shopping Centre. She and her husband owned and operated Bob and Len’s Drive-Thru there for 13 years. The Lohrers moved to the Quail Creek Community in Green Valley, Arizona, in 2006. Prior to the move, Nancy was a member of the North Ridgeville Historical Society. She also belonged to the College Club West in Cleveland and participated primarily in the Cooking for Fun group in that organization. She was instrumental in forming a similar group in
Arizona as part of the Quail Creek Womens Club. Nancy shared her love of cooking and entertaining with her wide circle of friends and family. Her inventive menus were a delight to all who knew her.
A Memorial Service, in celebration of Nancy’s life, will be held at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, Thursday, August 30, 2012, at 11 A.M. The Reverend Allan R. Laubenthal will officiate.
