Ronald Gerald “Jerry” Parrack, was born in Barrackville, West Virginia, on August 3, 1937, and passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He was 75 years old.
He graduated from Barrackville High School in Barrackville, West Virginia, class of 1956. He moved to the Elyria area in 1958, then moved to the Grafton area in 1969, and lived there until his death. Jerry was a retired electrician from Ford Motor Company, Lorain Assembly Plant, in Lorain, where he worked for 42 years. He was a proud union member of UAW Local 425. He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, traveling back to West Virginia, and being outdoors. He owned a classic 1960 Chevy Impala that he liked to take to cruse-ins and car shows.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Roberta (Willard) Parrack; and his younger sister, Jean Vincent of West Virginia; his six sons, Dirk, residing in West Virginia, Doug (Stef), Don, Dave (Teri), Dan, and Jon (Susan), all residing in Ohio. He was the beloved grandfather of Michell (Donny), Mandie, Jason, Nathan (AJ), Danny, Kyle and Angel. He was also the beloved great grandfather of Allie, Zachary, Corey, Darrin, Katie, and Taylor. Jerry was also loved and cherished by many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mildred Parrack of Fairmont, West Virginia; and his older brother, Harry O. Parrack of Springfield, Ohio.
The family asks that if friends desire to, that a memorial contribution in his name be made to the charity of their choice.
No public service will be held. A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012.
