Elyria police

Monday, Aug. 20
11:30 a.m. — 700 block Demas Ave., resident said GPS taken overnight from her unlocked car along with other miscellaneous items.
1 p.m. — Midway Mall, 3418 Midway Mall Blvd., Midway Wireless manager said kiosk burglarized overnight, with $1,930 worth of electronics stolen from unlocked showcases.
2:28 p.m. — Republic Conduit, 525 15th St., copper power lines 15 feet above ground cut, police suspect perpetrator scaled the side of building. Several spools of wire also removed.
3:45 p.m. — 200 block Harrison St., resident said pickup in driveway that may have been unlocked was rummaged through. Cell phone charger, iPod and keys stolen.
7:12 p.m. — 300 block Pasadena Ave., resident said $10,000 worth of tools stolen from toolbox in unlocked garage.
10:25 p.m. — 800 block East Ave., woman said she was a passenger in a car with her boyfriend and she asked him to turn on the interior light to find her phone. The woman said the boyfriend, whom she said had been drinking, pulled her hair, hit her in the head and dragged her out of the car. He then drove away. The woman refused medical treatment, police said.

Saturday, Aug. 18
5:45 p.m. — Walmart, 4380 Leavitt Road, security guard said a man who stole a computer and vacuum from store threatened to kill him when the guard tried to stop him.
8 p.m. — Colorado Avenue near Kansas Avenue, Jennifer Kitzel, 44, Westlake, arrested and charged with drunken driving. Kitzel was stopped for weaving and couldn’t maintain her balance during a field sobriety test, according to police. Kitzel failed her test and refused to take a breath test, according to police, who said she screamed at officers at one point. Kitzel, whom police said had a 1993 conviction for drunken driving, was released to her mother.
10:42 p.m. — West 33rd Street between Broadway and Falbo Avenue, James Enderle, 66, 2500 block of Jackson St., Lorain, arrested and charged with drunken driving and weaving. Enderle was stopped for weaving and driving abnormally slow when approaching stop signs, police said. Enderle, who admitted to drinking three beers at a friend’s house, failed a field sobriety test and had a 0.12 blood alcohol content in a Breathalyzer test, police said.
10:47 p.m. — 3000 block Surf Ave., girl, 13, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence. The girl’s 29-year-old mother, whom police said had swelling on the side of her face, said her daughter punched her. The woman’s fiance said the daughter than attempted to stab her mother with a knife, but he took the knife away. The fight began over the mother refusing to let her daughter have a bag of chips and not letting her let a girlfriend stay overnight. The girl, who denied trying to stab her mother, said she was only defending herself. She was taken to the Lorain County Juvenile Detention Center.
